Dozier Winery began as a hobby and has developed into a way of life.  Bruce Dozier started making wine in his basement in 1989.  It soon was discovered that it was liked by many more than just his household.  Wanting a business of their own, Bruce and Nina decided to begin a vineyard and winery where patrons could come and enjoy a taste of wine.  The property was selected for such a purpose.  It was purchased in 1998 and a 4 acre vineyard was planted the following spring.  On the property was a rundown Santa Fe Depot which would be renovated into the existing Winery.  Much work was done on  the property to get the Winery opened.  On the 48 acres the Dozier's purchased are woods with foot paths and areas for picnicking.

"We love it so much that we wanted to share it with those that love nature at its best."  Available for hiking or a leisurely stroll.  Not only did the property come with a Depot, but a Ghost.  It has been said that she (The Bride) roams the area around the Depot looking for her lost love.  Local area people have seen her in her finest.

Planted in the vineyard are 8 varieties of wine grapes suitable for our area.  We feel that once you try the wine you will love our distinct flavor, perhaps as much as the famous California wines.  Before prohibition Kansas was the 2nd in the USA in wine production.  The abundance of sunshine is conducive to grape growing.
